The nationwide 100 day special campaign to promote digital & cashless transactions, second ‘DigiDhan Mela’ was organized at Gurugram in Haryana. A large number of people from different walks of life including celebrities actively participated with a commitment for the cashless society.

Highlights

  • Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar was present to the event.
  • As many as 100 such melas would be organised throughout the country.
  • Awards were also being given to encourage cashless transactions.
  • Government of India has launched two schemes namely - Lucky Grahak Yojana & Digi Dhan Vyapar Yojana for consumers and merchants respectively.
  • All daily use items ranging from vegetables to general store, handicraft products, horticulture products will be available in this fair and the customers will have to make payment through digital mode.
  • The fertilizers and seeds will be sold to the farmers in the fair by various agencies.
  • Visitors will also be able to apply for Aadhaar cards and open bank accounts at the DigiDhan mela.
  • These Digi Dhan Melas will be held through April 2017.
  • Scheme has also been launched to improve supply of cards and POS machines in rural areas.
  • People will be educated how to use plastic money.
