About Mr. Dilip Parulekar: Dilip Parulekar is from Porvorim of Goa. He is Goa’s tourism minister and Secretary and Director for Tourism, Mathew Samuel (IAS). He is also member of Bharatiya Janta Party.

  • He is also part of fifth legislative assembly 2007 where he is member of committee on privileges and budget committee.

About his achievements:

  • Dilip Parulekar has been awarded with the Pacific Area Travel Writers Association (PATWA) award and Safari India South Asia Travel Award 2015.
  • He achieves this award for the Best Tourism Minister category.
  • He became the first tourism minister who win prestigious award like PATWA.

About PATWA award:

  1. PATWA stands for Pacific Area Travel Writers Association.
  2. It was founded in 1998 in Colombo of Sri Lanka.
  3. PATWA awards are given three times in a year at ITB Berlin, WTM London and Safari India Awards, New Delhi.
  4. Winners are shortlisted through a strict and clear process: recommendations are made by the PATWA Secretary General and the Director and Auditor of the award.
  5. It is a partner of United Nations and World Tourism Organization.
