Gordie Howe the Legendary Canadian ice hockey player passed away at Toledo, US at the age of 88 years, during his career he got nickname Mr. Hockey and had spent most of his career with the Detroit Red Wings, winning the Stanley Cup four times.

  • He was born on 31st March 1928 in Floral, Canada.
  • He started his career in ice hockey in 1946.
  • Since then he had played 26 NHL (National Hockey Leagues) and 6 World Hockey Association seasons and held many of the scoring records.
  • He was among the top 10 scorers for 21 repeated years and also was named most respected player six times before finally retiring in 1980.
  • In 1972 Howe was also named an NHL All Star 23 times and was capitalized into the hockey Hall of Fame.
  • He had emeritus in 1971 but had made retaliation with the Hartford Whalers in 1979 - 80 previously finally leaving at the age of 52, which make him the only ice hockey player, whose career spanned five decades in ice hockey.
