Ministry of Mines has launched Transparency, Auction Monitoring and Resource Augmentation (TAMRA) Portal and Mobile Application. Its aim is to ensuring transparent award of statutory Clearances for mining operations. It is an interactive platform to speed up mining activity.

  • Piyush Goyal is Union Minister of State (IC) for Power, Coal, New & Renewable Energy and Mines.
  • Project is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Ease of Doing Business initiative, which advocates facilitating overall business activity.
  • TAMRA will cover block-wise, state-wise and mineral-wise information of blocks to be auctioned.
  • TAMRA platform was simultaneously launched across 12 mineral rich states in Mining sector and to double mining contribution to GDP.

Functionality of portal and app

  • TAMRA generates timelines against each of the statutory clearances required block-wise/type of lease –Composite License/Mining Lease.
  • most important clearances required for any type of mining lease are Forest (FC), Environment (EC) and Land Acquisition against which timelines are set.
  • Preferred bidders are required to obtain clearances and in case of any delay a trigger will be sent to all concerned.
  • Status of each of the clearances is reflected on the portal.
  • Enables successful bidder to give suggestions/inputs.
  • Mobile app version of TAMRA is user friendly and accessible to all citizens.
  • The app aims to establish participative and informative network among all stakeholders.
