Haryana Government launches Village Mentoring Project to uplift villagers [ Current News (Concise) ]
Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has launched a Village Mentoring Project (VMP) in a bid to improve healthcare and education of the villagers with a special emphasis on girl child. The VMP was launched in Rajjipur village of Panchkula district of Haryana state in collaboration with Indian School of Business (ISB).
- VMP (Village Mentoring Project) is the first of its kind initiative in Haryana state under which villages in the state would be mentored by leading educational institutions, corporate houses and other organizations.
- They will present a street play on the theme of Continuing girl education, sanitation, hygiene and nutrition and also conduct a counseling session, health camps engaging with the school kids and village residents.
- VMP will be launched in a phased manner in 5 villages each of the 22 districts in the state. In case of Rajjipur village of Panchkula district, faculty and students of ISB will visit the village.
