GARUDA SHAKTI

  • India and Indonesia
  • 2016 (4th edition) Magelang in Indonesia

Aim:

  • Build and promote positive relations between Armies of India and Indonesia
  • Enhance their abilities to undertake joint tactical level operations in a counter insurgency environment under United Nations Charter

1st and 3rd edition of the exercise were conducted in India

IBSAMAR

  • Trilateral naval exercise between Brazil, India and South Africa
  • 2016: (5th edition) in Goa
  • 1st time held in India
  • First 4 editions held in South Africa

Two Phases:

  • Harbour Phase: Wide range of professional interactions will be undertaken
  • Sea Phase: Diverse range operational activities will be conducted off Goa coast

  • INS Shalki –A Shisuhumar class diesel electric submarine
  • INS Trishul–A stealth frigate

Brazil:

  • Brazilian Naval Ship (BNS) Amazonas embarked with Special Forces

South Africa:

  • SAS Spioenkop (F 147) - integral helicopter and embarked with Special Forces
