  • Can deceive any anti-ballistic Missiles

  • Developed by: DRDO under IGMDP

  • Long range subsonic (less than Mach 1) cruise missile
  • Developed by ADE under DRDO
  • Two-stage missile system
  • Answer to US’s Tomahawk and Pakistan’s Babur missile
  • Equipped with ring -laser gyroscope for accurate strikes
  • All-weather missile capable of carrying conventional and nuclear war heads
  • Range: 1000 Kms

  • Indigenously developed Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas
  • It will replace the entire MIG-21 fleet
  • Features: Smooth, fly-by-wire, its turn radius is very good and maneuverability is very good
  • Limitations: Light combatant, Single engine, Light weight fighter, cannot go into deep penetration


  • Military equipments like aircrafts, tanks, naval ships, submarines cannot be detected by infrared and radar system
  • Invisible to radar system.
  • Shape that it reflects radar signal in some other direction
  • Cover the equipment with such a material that can observe radar signals.
  • DRDO announced stealth technology for all future naval ships.


  • Dual function as environmental container and a launching tube
  • Hot launch: Missile ignites in the cell – good for small engines
  • Cold launch: Missile is expelled by gas produced by a gas generator which is not part of the missile itself – much safer

Significance for India:

  • Cold launch of canister based launching system - used in launch of Agni V missile.
  • It enhances deterrence mechanism of Indian missile program.

INVS Tarini

  • Navy’s first Indian all-women circumnavigation of the globe expedition.
  • Built to stock Tonga 56 by Van de Stadt, the Netherlands
  • Has Raymarine navigation suite


  • Launched in 1993
  • Strengthen and extend the classical safeguards system
  • Detect undeclared nuclear activities with no connection to civil fuel cycle.

Key elements:

  • Information on nuclear activities, R & D, production of uranium and thorium, and nuclear-related imports and exports.
  • Greater rights of access - any suspect location, environmental sampling and remote monitoring techniques.
  • Automatic visa renewal for IAEA inspectors
  • India has ratified Additional Protocol for energy security
