The Food Park is being set up in Uttarakhand at cost of Rs. 99.96 cr. & it gives benefit nearly 25, 000 farmers. Himalayan Mega Food Park Pvt. Ltd. is being set up in 50.14 acres area. Park would have facilities for primary processing & storage near farms.

  • Park would not benefit farmers of Udham Singh Nagar but also nearby dist. of Nainital, Garhwal, Almora & Champawat.

  • It would have central processing centre & 3 Primary Processing Centres at Ram Nagar, Ramgarh, & Kaladungi.

  • 1st Mega Food Park was located at Haridwar.

Facilities at Food Park

  • Facilities being provided at Central Processing Centre which include Multi-Purpose Cold Storage of 1, 250 MT

  • Aseptic Brick Filling Line of 7, 500 pack/hr.

  • Dry Warehouse of 6000 MT

  • Fruit & Vegetable Processing Line with capacity of 7 MT/hr. for Tomato Paste, 8 MT/hr for Apple, 10 MT/hr. for carrot, 5 MT/hr. for fruit pulp

  • Food Testing Lab.

Benefits of the Park

  • Food Park would get additional investment of Rs. 250 cr. in 25 - 30 food processing units.

  • Start with turnover of Rs. 450 - 500 cr. annually.

  • Park will provide employment to 5000 persons & benefits 25000 farmers in CPC & PPC areas.

  • Modern infrastructure for food processing at Park will benefit farmers, growers, processors consumers & prove to be big boost to growth of food processing sector in U’Khand.

  • Sector would contribute towards doubling farmers’ income by working to achieve goal thr implementation of projects under scheme of ’Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana’.

What is Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana?

  • This scheme is for Agro- Marine Processing & for development of Agro-Processing Clusters.

  • This scheme is comprehensive package with expectation of leverage investment of Rs. 31400 cr. for handling of 334 lakh MT agro-produce valued at Rs. 1, 04, 125 cr.
