  • Apart from government collaboration, Norwegian companies and private sector is also seeking opportunities to collaborate with Indian counterpart.
  • The India-Norway Task Force on Blue Economy for Sustainable Development was launched during Norwegian Prime minister՚s visit to India in January, 2019.
  • The objective of the task force is to follow up and develop joint initiatives between Norway and India.
  • This was the third meeting of task force which was held on February 18,2020.
  • The India-Norway Joint Task Force on Blue Economy:

  • In 1986, India has signed a Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) with Norway, which was revised in February, 2011.
  • Total bilateral trade between India and Norway was around $ 1.1 billion in 2015 - 16.
  • Three arctic missions have visited Norway from India in 2007,2008 and 2009.
  • Location of India՚s polar Research Station “Himadri” is at Ny Alesund, Spitsbergen Island, Norway.
