India Ranks 87th on the WEF՚s Global Gender Gap Report 2016

On the World Economic Forum՚s (WEF) Global Gender Gap Report 2016, India was ranked 87th out of 144 countries. In 2015, India has ranked 108th. Report measures gender gap as progress towards parity between men and women in four areas namely:

  • Educational attainment
  • Health and survival
  • Economic opportunity
  • Political empowerment

  • Global workplace gender gap measured in terms of economic participation and opportunities is getting worse- stands at 59% .
