(MYC) to Support 3 Pilot Cities: Nagpur, Kochi & Ahmedabad

India & MYC
MYC aims at supporting 3 pilot cities viz. Nagpur (Maharashtra) , Kochi (Kerala) & Ahmedabad (Gujarat) in their efforts to reduce their Green House Gas (GHG) emissions related to urban transport by implementing urban mobility plans at local level & to help India at national level to improve their sustainable transport policy.
3 pilot cities selected under programme as well as MoHUA will benefit from technical assistance activities to be carried out under MYC.
Main Components of Proposed Assistance for MYC
To support planning & implementation of sustainable urban transport projects,
To support strengthening of institutional capacity for regulating, steering & planning urban mobility,
To learn & exchange formats w⟋other cities across India for exchanges on best practices.
Details of project activities will be worked out by AFD in consultation with MoHUA & 3 partner cities including institutions such as respective Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) for Smart Cities, Municipal Corporations & any transport authority or transport authority or transport related SPV.
Mobilise Your City (MYC)
MYC is global & inclusive network of cities & countries as well as umbrella brand of European development cooperation particularly related to field of sustainable urban transport.
It aims at assisting beneficiary partners - i.e.. national & local govt. in their preparation of National Urban Mobility Policies & Investment Programs (NUMPs) & Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) .
It facilitates establishment of framework conditions for effective investment & sustainable development of urban transport infrastructure & services as well as regulatory soft measures.
MYC is part of international initiative which is supported by French & German Govt.
It was launched at 21st Conference of Parties (COP21) meeting in December, 2015.
