Indian Railways Fits Specially Designed Aerators in Basin-Taps of Tejas Express

Specially-designed aerators are installed in basin-taps of Tejas Express train as step towards water conservation by Indian Railway Ministry. Measure was taken by Bhusawal Division of Central Railway zone. Aerators thru their fine pores break incoming stream of water into fine sub-streams.

  • Aerators are to be fitted as one-time measure & are fitted in existing taps of Tejas Express w⟋o any modification or replacement of available taps.

Advantages of Aerators

  • While out-flowing water is sufficient for utilisation towards cleanliness, wastage is prevented by reducing excess flow.
  • Conservation of water is effective way to avoid enroute watering complaints in trains & it is significant step in conserving precious resource.
  • Initiative reduces water consumption of each tap by 1⟋4th & is significant step towards water conservation.

Train was inaugurated on 24th May 2017 from Mumbai CST to Karmali, Goa.
