The Union Minster of Defence inaugurated 57,000 water structures on February 11,2021 which costed over ₹ 2,000 crores. The water structures were constructed in Madhya Pradesh.

Jal Shakti Abhiyan

  • Launched by the Union Jal Shakti Minister in July 2019.
  • A joint effort involving various ministries of the Government of India and state governments.
  • This effort is being coordinated by the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS) which falls under the Jal Shakti Ministry.
  • It is a campaign for water conservation and water security in the country.
  • This campaign is focusses on water stressed districts and blocks.
