Smt. M. Sathiyavathy took oath of office & secrecy as Member of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Oath was administered by Shri. Vinay Mittal, Chairman, UPSC. Before joining Commission, she held position of Secretary of Ministry of Labour & Employment.

About Smt. M. Sathiyavathy

  • Smt. M. Sathiyavathy is an Officer of the 1982 batch of the Indian Administrative Service of AGMUT Cadre.

  • Has rich and varied experience, having worked in various key positions under the Government during the course of a long career spanning over 35 years.

  • In her Cadre she has held various responsible positions as Secretary in Dept. of Welfare, Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of Puducherry, Secretary in Dept. of Education & Human Resource Development, Govt. of Puducherry & Chief Secretary, Govt. of Puducherry.

  • 1st woman Director General of Civil Aviation.

  • Appointed as OSD to Ministry of Labour & Employment.

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)

  • UPSC, India’s premier central recruiting agency was formed on October 1926.

  • UPSC is important for recruitment of Group A & B officers for central government & conducts civil services examinations.

  • Commission is headquartered at Dholpur House, Delhi.
