Legendary Telugu writer Dasaradhi Rangacharya who popularly known as Daasarathi passed away in Hyderabad at the age 87. Dasaradhi Rangacharya was born on 24 August 1928 in Khammam District erstwhile Hyderabad State now in Telangna.

Telugu Writer Dasaradhi Rangacharya

  • Dasaradhi Rangacharya had translated all four Vedas, Ramayana and Mahabharata into Telugu. His autobiography was Jeevanayanam.
  • His novels Chillara Devullu (The Lesser Deities) was published in 1969 & Moduga Poolu (Fire Flowers) in 1971 are well known for influencing Telugu people against oppression by the rulers. Later Chillera Devullu won a Sahitya Academy award i.e. National Literature Award.
  • He participated in fight against the Nizam’s autocratic rule and also took part in the Telangana Armed Struggle till Hyderabad was liberated in Operation Polo.
