Lenovo appoints Rahul Agarwal as Managing Director, India [ Current News (Concise) ]
Lenovo has appointed Rahul Agarwal as the Managing Director (MD) of its India operations. Rahul Agarwal replaces Amar Babu who has been promoted to regional mandate as Chief operating Officer (COO), Asia Pacific and Chairman of Lenovo India.
Prior to Lenovo, Rahul was associated with IBM’s PCD (PC Division).
Rahul Agarwal had led Lenovo’s commercial business and has managed various roles in sales and marketing in the past.
Lenovo had held the third spot in the Indian PC segment with 15.8% market share in 2014. At present, the company is aiming to be among the top three in the Indian smartphone market.
Since April 2011, Rahul Agarwal has been the Executive Director, Commercial & Enterprise Business, Lenovo India, and has been heading the Commercial Business.
Rahul Agarwal played several key roles including heading the Lenovo marketing and leading Lenovo’s global marketing hub in Bangalore.
Recently, Lenovo launched the K3 Note in India for Rs 9,999 and announced that it is planning to set up a manufacturing unit in the country.
