Overview

  • AatmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan launched on 12 May, 2020 – Additional allocation of ₹ 60,000 crore
  • Reverse migration of 423 million workforce
  • Social inclusion and strengthening PRIs
  • Covers 369 districts with 2.65 lakh gram panchayats
  • One person one day wage employment cost is around ₹ 251 in 2019 - 2020
  • Low educational level and limited skill set has affected rural Labor workforce – Idea is to empower them
  • MNREGA work relates to natural resource management (watershed, water security, afforestation, and renovation) , work on individual asset for vulnerable sections, common and rural infrastructure
  • Section 16 (4) of MNREGA 2005 – empowers GP to have developmental plan for execution upon demand
  • Collect data of returning migrants at district level – implement machinery to ensure wage entitlements
  • Re-register those excluded immediately
  • Additional labour budget exercise is must
  • Agriculture has grown by 3.7 % rather than 2.5 to 3 % as routine.
  • 87 % farmers are small and marginal and have 40 % cultivable landholdings
