World Norwegian chess grandmaster Magnus Carlsen of Norway won the Shamkir chess tournament held in Shamkir city of Azerbaijan. Carlsen defeated Azerbaijani Rauf Mamedov in the last and final round to finish the tournament with 7 points. Norwegian chess grandmaster, No. 1 ranked player not only retained the title for the second year in succession but also earned 13 ELO points to top the world ranking with 2875 points.
