Maharashtra Government (Devendra Fadnavis) launched “Bhagyashree scheme” for a girl child and it replaced by Sukanya scheme. This scheme was launched by the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in the presence of Bollywood actress Bhagyashree and she is also the brand ambassador of the scheme.

  1. Maharashtra Government, Bhagyashree scheme would be linked to the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme of Union Government.
  2. According to this scheme, the Maharashtra Government will deposit an amount of 21,200 rupees in bank for a girl child born in a Below the Poverty Line (BPL) family.
  3. Under the Bhagyashree scheme, the state government will provide one lakh rupee on maturity after the girl completes 18 years of age.
