Maldivian Civil Servants to Undergo Special Training in India

In a major step towards promoting the India Maldives ties, the Indian Govt. has decided to train Maldivian Civil Servants at the hill town Mussoorie (Uttarakhand) New Delhi from 16 to 28 September 2019. A delegation consisting of a 32-member has arrived in India for taking part in Special Training Programme.

Overview and the Special Training Programme

  • 70% of the delegates arrived from Maldives are women officials.
  • The Special Training Programme for Maldivian Civil Servant will be taking place on 16 September, the same will be chaired by Secretary DARPG (Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances) , Member Civil Services Commission and Additional Secretary DARPG.
  • During the two weeks training programme senior policymakers from the Government of India would be addressing the participants.
  • Following sessions will take place:
    • Public Policy and Governance.
    • Ethics and Accountability and Redressal of Public Grievances.
    • Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) , Motivation.
    • Motivation
    • Promotion Tourism
    • Innovation
    • Regional Cooperation in Indian Ocean Region (IOR)
    • India-Maldives Relations along with visits to Unique Identification Authority
    • Passport Sewa Kendra
    • Election Commission of India (ECI)
  • One of the MOUs signed between India՚s National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) and Maldives Civil Service Commission (CSC) envisaged capacity building activities for 1000 Civil Servants of Maldives at National Centre for Good Governance over next 5 years.
  • The Prime Minister of India during his visit to Maldives in June 2019, emphasised India՚s Neighborhood First policy and assured India՚s full support to Maldives in realising its aspirations for broad-based socio-economic development and strengthening of democratic and independent institutions.
