Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas & Minister of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship inaugurated 1st-ever National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) ‘s Mancheswar Campus, Bhubaneswar.

  • Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship had announced launch of National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) in Barang, Bhubaneswar.

  • Pending construction of, NSTI Bhubaneswar has hired 20000 sq. ft. space in Dharmapada Building of National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) at Mancheswar Bhubaneswar.

  • Institute shall be equipped w/state-of-the-art facility to impart skill development courses to trainers & assessors along w/training of candidates in new age courses catering to needs of industry

  • Designed keeping in mind youth of institutes’ catchment areas.

  • NSTI which will function under Directorate General of Training (DGT) will include following training activities like:

  • Trainers Training (Long term/Short term)

  • Refresher Training (Long term/Short term)

  • Re-skilling/Up skilling courses

  • Certificate courses and Common Facility Centre (CFS)

  • Inauguration was followed by commencement of Systems, Applications & Products (SAP) Master Trainers Programme in which instructors from other NSTIs of India participated.

  • Aim is to create future ready workforce thru providing access to knowledge of innovative enterprise IT solutions.

  • SAP India & DGT, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, GoI signed MoU for Skill Development on Enterprise Software & Data Sciences during foundation laying ceremony of NSTI.

  • Joint program b/w MSDE & SAP is planned on following broad pillars:

Training on Enterprise Software:

  • SAP will train pool of trainers at NSTI Bhubaneswar on Business One enterprise software.

  • After master training, NSTI Bhubaneswar trainers will run these programs autonomously for youth.

  • This will provide exposure on Enterprise software to youth & help in enhancing their employability.

  • SAP Business One is Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software that allows small & medium sized enterprises to manage their entire business – from accounting & financials, purchasing, inventory, sales & customer relationships, & project management, to operations & human resources.

Training on Data Sciences:

  • SAP will conduct special training on Data Sciences for participants/faculty at NSTI.

  • Courses proposed to be introduced from October 2018 are:

  • SAP software training

  • IOT Technician (Smart City)

  • IOT Technician (Smart Healthcare)

  • IOT Technician (Smart Agriculture)

  • Revitalizing existing training infrastructure & developing new institutions in unserved & underserved areas.

  • Focus is that these institutions continue to provide relevant & employable skills to our youth, has been one of main driving forces in our Skill Development efforts.

  • Setting up of NSTI in Bhubaneswar, is yet another step to empower youth of State & make them job ready. This would help in address issue of migration.

  • Bhubaneswar office of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) will support recently introduced nation-wide counselling campaign of Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.

  • Campaign will be implemented by Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendras (PMKK) at field level.

  • Each PMKK will have counsellors who will introduce youth to skill ecosystem & counsel them on their path to growth basis their education, interest & aptitude.

  • Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas addressed National Scheduled Caste Scheduled Tribe (SC- ST) Hub Regional Conclave in Bhubaneswar.

  • Govt. is committed to welfare of disadvantaged.

  • Odisha’s development & creation of job opportunities for youth is collective responsibility & appealed to State Govt. to set politics aside & augment efforts being taken by Central Govt. to create employment opportunities for youth of Odisha.
