- Justice Manjula Chellur born on 5, December, 1955 at Karnataka. She is the first women chief justice of Calcutta High court.
- She received Bachelor of Arts degree from Allum Sunmangalamma Women՚s College, Bellary and Law degree from Renukacharya Law College, Bangalore.
- She became the first female advocate to practice law in Bellary.
- Manjula Chellur worked as a legal advisor, practising both civil and criminal law before the local Bellary courts.
