Mayilsamy Annadurai Appointed as Director of ISRO Satellite Centre (ISAC)

Eminient Mayilsamy Annadurai was appointed as Director of ISRO Satellite Centre (ISAC) , Bengaluru. He succeeded the Dr SK Shivakumar superannuated on 31 March 2015. Annadurai will oversee development of satellite technology and implementation of satellite systems for scientific, technological and application missions to see as the Director of ISAC level.

  • Earlier, Annadurai had been the Programme Director of Indian Remote Sensing Satellites (IRS) and Small Satellite Systems (SSS) at the ISAC since 2011.
  • In 1982, Mayilsamy Annadurai began his career at ISAC as the team leader to design and develop Software Satellite Simulator.
  • In 2009, Annadurai was appointed as the Project Director of Chandrayaan-1, India՚s first lunar probe.
  • In 2007, Annadurai was conferred with Team Excellence Award from ISRO for his Contribution to Indian Space Programme and he was also instrumental in completion of India՚s first inter-planetary mission Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) in record time.
  • In 2008, Annadurai received Rajyotsava Award for Science from Government of Karnataka.
