Meira Kumars book released Indian Parliamentary Diplomacy Speakers Perspective


Former Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar’s book released “Indian Parliamentary Diplomacy – Speaker’s Perspective” and its first copy of book was presented to the President Pranab Mukherjee at a function held in Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. “Indian Parliamentary Diplomacy – Speaker’s Perspective” was released by present Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.

The book has written about an account of the parliamentary diplomacy of India and its role in furthering foreign policy and strengthening international relations.

Former Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar has collected own selected speeches and reports as leader of Indian parliamentary delegations at several international foreign.

From 2009 to 2014, Meira Kumar was the first unopposed elected woman Speaker of Lok Sabha and Prior to joining politics she was a lawyer and a former diplomat.

Meira Kumar was also five time Member of Parliament and was elected to 8th, 11th, 12th, 14th and 15th Lok Sabha.

From 2004 to 2009, Meira kumar also had served as a Cabinet Minister in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment of Manmohan Singh led UPA Government.

Name of Meira Kumar’s father was Babu Jag Jivan Ram who was a prominent freedom fighter.
