The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has launched Cyber Surakshit Bharat initiative to strengthen cybersecurity ecosystem in India in line with Government’s vision for a ‘Digital India’. It was launched in association with National e-Governance Division (NeGD) and industry partners.

What is ‘Cyber Surakshit Bharat’?

  • Cyber Surakshit Bharat is first public-private partnership initiative.

What is the Objective of Cyber Surakshit Bharat?

  • The objective of cyber surakshit bharat is to

  • Spread awareness about cyber-crime.

  • Building capacity for safety measures for chief Information Security officers and frontline IT staff across all government departments.

Principles of Operation of Cyber Surakshit Bharat?

It will be operated on three principles

  1. Awareness: An awareness program on importance of cybersecurity is included.

  2. Education: It will include a series of workshops on best practices

  3. Enablement: Enablement of officials with cybersecurity health tool kits to manage and mitigate cyber threats.

What Are the Training Programmes Involved?

  • Training programmes will be conducted across the country for six months.

  • The training programmes will be attended by CISCOs and technical staff from government, state government and UTs, PSBs, PSUs, and defence forces, defence PSUs and technical arms of Air Force, Army, and Navy.
