  • Sahithi Pingali had presented her paper which is titled as “An Innovative Crowdsourcing Approach to Monitoring Freshwater Bodies” at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) and for this she got second rank as well as three special awards in the Earth and Environment Sciences category.
  • Along with this she was also awarded with a gold medal for her research work on Varthur lake at the International Sustainable World Engineering Energy Environment Project (ISWEEEP).
  • The aim of naming planets after the scientists is to motivate and inspired them.

The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF)

  • ISEF is world’s largest pre-college scientific research event and was founded in 1950 by Science Service (now the Society for Science & the Public) and has been sponsored by the Intel Corporation since 1997.
  • The Society for Science & the Public a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization is organize this fair in each May where more than 1500 students from across 70 countries and territories take part in the fair.
  • The fair offers scholarships, tuition grants, internships, scientific field trips and the grand prizes, including one $75, 000 and two $50, 000 college scholarships.
