NPC Introduce Training of Trainers Programme on Capacity Building for Six Waste Management Rules 201, The Ministry of Environment, Forests, Climate Change and Government of India has introduced Six Waste Management Rules in year 2016 under the Swachh Bharat Mission and They are:

Key Facts

  • The Ministry of Urban Development and Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) have jointly introduced National Capacity Building Project for 68 Cities based on these six rules which will be also considered at the time of implementation of these buildings for the Urban Local Bodies⟋UAs and different stakeholders in the identified cities.
  • Central Pollution Control Board and National Productivity Council (NPC) , an autonomous body under Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India are the National Implementing Agency for Capacity Building Project on Six Waste Management Rules (2016) .
  • The main objective of the Capacity Building project strengthening is to make environment of the city healthy by making stronger institutional capacities at ULBs and also for stakeholders, towards collection, treatment, disposal and different types of efficient management and categories of wastes, promoting Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, and spread good practices, and integrated efforts.
Healthy Environment under Capacity Building project Achieved
  • Training of Trainers Programme is aims to train and connect Waste Management Experts from different parts of the country which will further serve as Master Trainers at NPC Conference on 29 - 30 June 2017.

Central Pollution Control Board

  • The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) is a legislative organisation of India which is works under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) .
  • It was founded in 1974 under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974.
  • CPCB is also works under the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
