India’s first ever multi-modal electric vehicle project was inaugurated by Maharashtra’s chief minister Devendra Fadnavis at the Nagpur Airport Complex. The pilot project will have 200 electric vehicles such as taxis, buses, e-rickshaw and auto rickshaws and these all public transport electric vehicles will be operated under Ola (the Taxi aggregator). Ola has invested Rs. 50 corer in Evs and chagrining infrastructure.

  • At this initial stage the project will lunch with 200 – string fleet among which 100 e2o electric taxis are manufactured by Mahindra & Mahindra and rest of them are manufactured by Tata Motors, Kinetic, BYD and TVS.
  • Ola also has build more than 50 charging points at four different places of Nagpur including the Nagpur airport.


  • According to the recent joint report of NITI Aayog and Rock Mountain Institute the use of electric and shared vehicles will save $60 billion in fuels and also will cut down 1 gigatonne (GT) of carbon emission by 2030.
  • Mahindra & Mahindra has invested total Rs. 600 corer in technology, products, and plants of e-vehicles and already has manufactured 2,700 e-vehicles which are running around 14 million kms per day.
  • Ola will be investing around $2 billion in e-vehicles across all cities of India.
  • Ola has set its target of running one million electricity-powered vehicles by 2020 through its platform.

  • ANI Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is an Indian online transportation network company which is renowned as Ola.
  • Ola is an online cab aggregator which was initially operated in Mumbai, but currently it is based in Bangalore.
  • Bhavish Aggarwal (CEO) and Ankit Bhati had founded Ola on 3rd December 2010 and currently company is operating 600,000 vehicles across 110 cities.
