National Testing Agency Launched Mobile App Through Which Students Can Practice Mock Tests (Download PDF)

National Testing Agency (NTA) launched a ‘mobile app’ through which students can practice or take mock tests on their own computers or smart phones. So far, more than one lakh students have registered at these TPCs and more than one crore students have benefited from these ‘App & Web’ services.

  • In order to ensure that no student is disadvantaged due to lack of resources, NTA has established a network of more than 4000 Test Practice Centres (TPCs) to acquaint the aspirants, especially those from rural areas with Computer Based Tests (CBTs).

  • Students across the country can register themselves online at NTA Website or ‘NTA Students App’ for visiting the TPCs. All these services are provided to the students free of cost.

  • So far, more than one lakh students have registered at these TPCs and more than one crore students have benefited from these ‘App & Web’ services.

Need for Students to Get Used to Computer-Based Tests

  • Computer-based tests aren’t a cakewalk for all kinds of students in India as even though the spread of digital awareness is growing, it hasn’t reached every underprivileged corner of India yet.

  • So, the NTA has established a network of more than 4,000 Test Practice Centres (TPCs) in order to ensure no student is disadvantaged, said Union Minister of State for HRD Satyapal Singh in a reply to a question in Lok Sabha, as per PTI.

  • These test centres will make aspirants, especially those from rural areas, become more comfortable with computer-based tests (CBTs).

How Students Can Avail the Services of the Test Centres

  • To use the test centre services of NTA, students from across India can register themselves online at the NTA website or the NTA students app, said Singh.

  • The minister also clarified that students would be getting all these services free-of-cost.

  • More than one lakh students have registered at these TPCs and over one crore students have benefited from these app and web services, he added.
