New CEO and President of Bank of the West is Indian-American Nandita Bakshi


The new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bank of the West, a subsidiary unit of French banking giant BNP Paribas is Indian-American Nandita Bakshi (57). She will replace Michael Shepherd due to his appointment as chairman of the BNP Paribas USA, a new holding company for all BNP Paribas subsidiaries in the United States.

About Nandita Bakshi:

  • She has amusing experience in banking sector.
  • She also had served at several leadership roles at different top Banks in US.

She also had work for different supervisory positions at:

  • Washington Mutual in Seattle
  • FleetBoston
  • First Data Corp
  • Home Savings of America
  • Banc One Corp

Nandita Bakshi had completed her bachelor’s degree in History at the University of Calcutta and masters in International Relations and Affairs at Jadavpur University.

And prior to this appointment she has served on the board of the Consumer Bankers Association.

She was awarded with ‘Woman of the Year’ award in 2002 by New England News.
