World TB day is observed on 24 March every year. Ministry of Health & Family Welfare celebrated World TB Day w/a function to reiterate the TB elimination commitment in country by 2025. Additional Secretary & Director General (RNTCP & NACP - Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme) .

- 21.5 lakh new TB patients notified in 2018 - India is closest to covering all TB cases
- Access to free diagnostic & treatment services to the universe
- Injection free regimen
- Private sector engagement helped Patient Provider Support Agency (PPSA) interventions led to 35 % increase in TB notification from private sector
Nikshay Poshan Yojana Scheme

- Benefited - 15 lakh TB patients for nutrition support w/ ₹ 240 cr. disbursed as DBT.
- A call centre - 1XXX-XX-6666 established for information, addressing grievance & patient linkages, etc.
- 15 lakh patients - initiated in the Fixed Dose Combination regime
- CB-NAAT - Diagnostic TB Test - also called GeneXpert outside India
- 1180 CB-NAAT labs along w/4 lakh treatment support centres at villages
- Resulted in increase from 25 % to 83 % in treatment success rates (2017 - 18) & TB prevalence rate come down from 29 % to 4 %
