PM Modi & Shiekh Hasina to inaugurate Kamalasagar border ‘haat’ [ Current News (Concise) ]
PM Narendra Modi and Bangladesh premier Sheikh Hasina will jointly inaugurate a border ‘haat’ (market) at Kamalasagar district of Sipahijala in Tripura and borders Brahmanbaria district of Bangladesh. The ‘haat’ would jointly inaugurate the second border ‘haat’ (market) in Tripura through video conferencing when the former visits Dhaka from June 6.
Sepahijala Additional District Magistrate Dilip Kumar Chakma and his Brahmanbaria counterpart Nazma Begum informed that Indian traders from India and Bangladesh can transact selected commodities respectively at the ‘haat’. Nirmala Sitharaman who is Union Minister for Industries and Commerce and Bangladesh Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed had inaugurated the State’s first border ‘haat’ at Srinagar border in Sabroom of south Tripura on 13 January this year. This is the second time, Modi and Hasina to open border ‘haat’ in Tripura. The costs of earlier project almost complete at Rs. 2.5 crores for construction of a market shed and other infrastructure facilities.
