Highlights of President’s Visit to Equatorial Guinea:

  • President was conferred w/ ’Condecoracion’, highest honour accorded to non-citizen by govt. of Equatorial Guinea. ‘Condecoracion’ is awarded only to select heads of state.

  • President discussed various issues of global & regional interest.

  • President agreed to expand bilateral partnership w/cooperation in fields of agriculture, mining, health, telecommunication & IT.

  • President was signing of 3 MoU b/w India & Equatorial Guinea in fields of AYUSH & traditional medicine, medicinal plants, & action plan for Information & Communication Technology.

Highlights of President’s Visit to Swaziland:

  • On 10th April 2018, India announced to donate USD 1 million to support Swaziland’s national disaster management agency & expressed commitment to developmental partnership to create local capacities in Swaziland & across Africa.

  • Announcement was made during President’s address to Swaziland’s parliament.

  • Ram Nath Kovind is 1st Indian President to visit Swaziland & also 1st visiting Head of State to address Swaziland’s Parliament.

  • President announced that India will establish Centre of Agriculture Excellence in Swaziland for sharing its experience in sector.

  • During visit, he held delegation level talks w/Swaziland’s King Mswati III.

  • Swaziland’s King Mswati III conferred ’Order of Lion’ on President to acknowledge contributions made by India for advancing Swaziland’s development agenda.

  • 2 agreements signed b/w India & Swaziland on health cooperation & on visa waivers for those travelling on official & diplomatic passports.

  • On 11th April, 2018 President held delegation level talks w/Zambian President Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

  • India & Zambia signed 4 agreements on double taxation avoidance, on mutual visa waivers for officials & diplomats, on judicial cooperation & on Entrepreneurship Development Institute that India will build in Zambia.

  • President addressed Zambia-India Business Forum.

  • India has agreed in principle to provide concessional finance & support towards construction of Mahatma Gandhi Convention Centre in Lusaka.

  • India has gifted medicines & medical equipment worth USD 3 million to Zambia.
