Now a days Gujarat is considered one of the developed state of India but the quality of Primary education is getting low and low in rural areas according to the survey done by ASER especially in Maths and basic languages.

This will become serious issue for Gujarat if Gujarat state Government will not tack any serious steps to come out from this situation, currently all they use to do is annual school enrolment drives and the ritualistic ‘Gunotsav’ which is not a complete enough they needed to do more creative things in this regard.

A level of education is decreasing gradually in rural areas from last seven years in basic academic skills such as math, English and also in mother tongue Gujarati based on the annual analysis of Annual Status of Education Reports (ASER) on around 21,000 students of 26 districts of Gujarat.

let՚s tack a look on some basic analysis (Gujarat) :

Table Shows Basic Analysis of Gujarat

Class IIISimple division16.1 %34.4 %

So, this analysis proves the decreasing ratio of primary education in Gujarat. The main week points are Maths, English and own mother tough Gujarati, even the condition is very poor in the case of Gujarati because students of Class V are also not able to read Class II level Gujarati, it is showing major decline.

The current Education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama has said that Gujarat Government is putting their best efforts behind the importation of education quality primary schools.

Factors Affects to Poor Quality Education

Many aspects affects to the cause of poor education quality such as infrastructure of school, Teachers per student՚s ratio, student՚s dropout ratio and many more …

If a proper school building is not available then students as well as parent՚s ignores to even tack admission because not only at Gujarat but in all most all the other stats of India proper infrastructure of school is not available, at some places school is running in tents or in open place so in some critical situation such as rain it՚s not possible to continue them.

School buildings in Gujarat (2006)

  • well-constructed buildings 2703
  • partially constructed buildings 449
  • poor quality buildings 95
  • 9 schools running in Tents
  • 9 schools running is open space without any building or even tent

Many of the students even not attending schools ones because of poetry so their parents prefer them of earning money and somewhere schools are very far so they are not able to reach their easily.

The other factor that affects to the quality of education is Budget allocated to per students because now a days many equipment՚s are requires to increase interest in study so for that schools needs to spend on them.

The other reason is ratio of allocation of teachers per students, because at many place there only single teacher who is handling a school so they are not able to give proper attention on students besides of their other responsibility.

If considered Gujarat then 1.42 % of schools has are with single teacher during 2009 - 10 and student, teacher ratio is 31 % .
