Sanjiv Singh will be the new Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOC). IOC is the nation’s largest company commercial enterprise. He was selected for the top job after Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) interviewed eight candidates.


  • IOC is also the nation’s biggest company by revenue.
  • Joined IOC in 1981 worked in various positions at Mathura, Barauni and Panipat Refineries.
  • He worked as Executive Director (In-Charge) at the Paradip Refinery Project in Odisha.
  • PESB recommendation will now go to the administrative ministry such as:

    • Ministry of Petroleum
    • Natural Gas
  • Appointments Committee of the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approval.
  • Director of Refineries at IOC since July 1, 2014.
  • 56 year-old Singh worked on Deputation for Nigeria’s National Petroleum Company.
