Saksham-2018. Saksham (Sanrakshan Kshamta Mahotsav) is an annual flagship event of Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. Saksham 2018 campaign aims at raising awareness amongst the citizens, on the need for conservation and effective utilisation of petroleum products.

  • ‘Saksham 2018’ is a vigorous and high intensity one-month long, people-centric mega campaign of Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) launched on 16th January which will conclude on February 15, 2018

What is the Aim of Saksham 2018?

The Saksham 2018 campaign aims:

  • at raising awareness amongst the citizens on the need for conservation and effective utilisation of petroleum products

  • sensitize masses about conservation and efficient use of petroleum products leading to better health and environment

  • to intensify efforts for making citizens aware about conservation and effective utilization of petroleum products

  • seeks to enthuse masses with new energy coupled with all-out effort for saving precious fuel, which will also contribute in keeping our environment green

How Will Saksham-2018 Be Conducted?

The awareness campaign will be conducted through various people-centric activities aimed at different segments of consumers like:

  • A training programme for drivers

  • Group talk on fuel saving tips to housewives, school, and college children

  • Technical meet/workshop on oil and gas conservation in different Industries

What is Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA)? The PCRA is an organization under the aegis of the Indian Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

  • It is engaged in promoting energy efficiency in various sectors of the economy.

  • It helps government in proposing policies and strategies aimed at reducing India’s dependency on oil, in order to save money, reduce environmental impact of oil use, and conserve fossil fuel.
