India’s biggest Global Skill Park will come up on 37 acre land allotted in Bhopal. It will be established with the support of Singapore’s Institute of Technical Education and Education Services (ITEES).

About Skill India

  • Campaign launched by Prime Minister on 15th July 2015 to train over 40 crore (400 million) people different skills by 2022.
  • Includes initiatives like

    • National Skill Development Mission
    • National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, 2015
    • Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)
    • Skill Loan scheme
    • Rural India Skill
  • UK entered into a partnership under this programme- enable young student to experience the school system of the other country developing an understanding of the culture, traditions and social and family systems.
  • Oracle to build a new 2.8 million sq. ft. campus in Bengaluru
  • Oracle Academy to train more than half-a-million students each year in computer science skills through partnerships to 2,700 institutions in India
  • Japan’s private sector to set up six institutes of manufacturing to train 30,000 people over 10 years
  • Through Japan-India Institute of Manufacturing (JIM) and Japanese Endowed Courses (JEC) in engineering colleges.
  • Designated by Japanese companies in cooperation between the public and private sectors
  • The first three institutes would be set up in Gujarat, Karnataka and Rajasthan in the summer of 2017
  • 100 India International Skills Centers to conduct advanced courses in foreign languages for overseas jobs.


  • Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion Programme
  • Government invested Rs. 4000 crore in SANKALP
  • Big initiative under the Skill India Mission.
  • Provide market relevant training to 350 million young Indians.
