Kerala start its transport sector when a solar-powered boat will start its first service from Vaikom in Kottayam district, about 180 km from Thiruvananthapuram by January 2017. Trial run of India’s first solar-powered passenger boat “Adithya”.

  • A normal boat costs about rupees 1.5 crore and the solar powered ferry costs rupees 2.2 crore which means a difference of 75 lacs.
