A Major Step Towards Development and Growth of Eastern India

GAIL (India) to begin construction of Jagdishpur –Haldia –Dhamra natural Gas pipeline

  • 20 lakh household will get PNG connection

  • 4 to 5 lakh vehicles are projected to shift to CNG

  • 2 crore LPG cylinders will be available to be provided to rural households

  • PNG and CNG will play a prominent role in smart cities development

Urja Ganga –A Progressive Scheme for Eastern India

East India Gas pipeline scheme will bring about a change in multiple dimensions for this region.

Scheme Highlights

  • 2540 km long Jagdishpur –Haldia and Bokaro –Dhamra natural gas pipeline project to begin

  • Rs 12490 crore investment to be done

  • 5 regions to benefit –UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and west Bengal, including 40 districts and 2600 villages

  • Development to be completed between 2018 - 2020

PM Modi Inaugurated Multiple Project at Varanasi

Launched 17 project in Varanasi, and foundation were laid for six more projects

  1. Inaugurated the Deendayal Hastkala Sankul — a trade facilitation centre for weavers and handicraft workers in Bada-Lalpur

  2. Inaugurated the Ramnagar-Samne Ghat bridge and the Balua Ghat bridge

  3. Distributed loan waiver certificates to farmers under state government initiative.

  4. Laid the foundation of nearly six projects including Ramna Sewage Treatment Plant to realizing the dream of Nirmal Ganga

  6. Launched ‘Jal Ambulance’ (water ambulance) service and ‘Jal Shav Vahan’ (water-based vehicle for carrying bodies) service

  8. Inaugurated a community kitchen (‘Annakshetra’) near the famous Kashi Vishwanath temple

  9. Distributed tool-kits and solar lamps to weavers and their children

Opening Doors for a New Beginning

Prime minister Shri Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for ‘Urja Ganga’, a piped natural gas (PNG) project in Varanasi.

  • Investment of Rs. 1000 crore

  • The pipeline would be 800 km long

  • PNG connection to be provided to * 50,000 households

  • CNG gas will be available for * 20,000 vehicles

  • Employment will be provided to * 6500 workers

Urja Ganga project is aimed at providing piped natural gas (PNG) to all the household in Varanasi.

  • 800 km long steel MDPI pipeline to be laid

  • 50,000 households and 20,000 vehicles will get PNG and CNG gas respectively

  • 5 lakh gas cylinders to be sent rural areas annually

  • A target of 0.2 MMSCMD gas to be sold
