  • Average coal stock increased from a critical point of less than 7 days to more than 25 days

  • Ujwal DISCOM assurance Yojana –the most comprehensive power sector reform ever

  • Permanent resolution of DISCOM issues by focusing on increasing operational and financial efficiency

India become world’s clean energy capital

  • Renewable capacity to be increased 5 times to 175 GW by 2022

  • Wind power capacity output of 3300MW in 2015 - 16 was 38 % above target

Soil Health Cards –A Health Card to assess the fertility of the Soil

  • 1.84 Crore soil health cards distributed

  • Target to cover all 14 crore farm holdings to all farmers by March 2017

Significant increase in relief provided by Government

  • The amount for state disaster response fund increased to Rs. 61220 Cr for the period 2015 - 2020.

  • Rs. 13496.57 Cr have been approved till now as relief to the states affected by drought and hailstorm

Lowest premium rate for farmers

  • One crop –one rate (Kharif: 2%, Rabi: 1.5%, Horticulture Crops: 5%)

  • Full Security –no capping on premium rates & no reduction in sum insured

  • 20 % farmers covered under insurance till now

  • Target of 50 % coverage in next 3 years

Indian Agriculture shows resilience to a deficit monsoon

  • Total food grain output in 2014 - 15 was 252.02 MT

  • Food grain production has remained much higher

  • Wholesale price based food grains inflation much lower

  • Total food grain output in 2015 - 16 estimated at 252.23 MT

One Nation, One Market

  • E-Platform for National Agriculture Market to help farmers fetch the best price for their produce

  • Pan –India electronic trading portal which networks the existing APMC Mandis

  • 585 regulated wholesale Mandis to be integrated by March, 2018

Multi –Pronged approach to augment farmers’ income

  • 28.5 lakh hectares will be Irrigated under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana

  • 89 irrigation projects implemented under AIBP

  • Long Term Irrigation Fund will be created in NABARD with an initial corpus of about Rs. 20,000 crore

  • 5 lakh farm ponds and dug wells in rain fed areas will be taken up under MGNREGA

  • 10 lakh compost pits for production of organic manure will be taken up under MGNREGA
