The US President Barack Obama nominated veteran diplomat David Hale as next Ambassador to Pakistan. David Hale appointment was selected by the US Senate. David Hale will replace Cameron Munter.

  1. David Hale has been the US Ambassador to Lebanon since 2013 and David Hale earlier served as the Special Envoy for Middle East Peace from 2011 to 2013 and as Deputy Special Envoy for Middle East Peace from 2009 to 2011.
  2. David Hale was a Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs at the US Department of State From 2008 to 2009.
  3. In 1984, David joined the Foreign Service and served as Director of the Office of Israel and Palestinian Affairs.
  4. During 2005 to 2008, David Hale served as US Ambassador to Jordan and he also served as Executive Assistant to the Secretary of State and in other positions overseas in Bahrain, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia.
