About CSF: CSF stands for Currency Stabilization Fund and also Coalition Support Funds. It is considered only in cases of high inflation. It is planned to increase a member’s resources temporarily in support of a wide-ranging exchange-rate-based balance strategy aimed for reducing inflation rapidly.

Fund received by Pakistan:

  • Pakistan received 336 million dollars fund from the United States of America for its opposing role of Taliban revolution in its neighboring country Afghanistan.
  • USA provides this fund under the Coalition Support Fund (CSF) programme which was started in 2001 after Pakistan became frontline helper of US-led partnership in Afghanistan.
  • USA help the Pakistan because of Taliban militants had step up its annual summer attacking which was launched in late April, 2015.
  • As the CSF programme began, Pakistan has received a total of 13 billion dollars in payments. In exchange for these repayments that Pakistan will provide USA and its associates to use their air bases and other services they need.
  • Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves reach all time high to 19 billion dollars by this injection help of money from USA.
