Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi launched a mobile application. It will provide information and facilitate e-payments for the pilgrimage. It is for the first time that Haj process is becomes digital application.

About Application

  • The app will provide information and facilitate e-payments for the pilgrimage.
  • App includes applying for Haj, enquiry and information, news and updates and e-payment.
  • Five adults and two infants can apply as a group.
  • A PDF copy of the form will go to applicant’s email.
  • After affixing the photo, the printout with documents is to be sent to the State Haj committees.
  • Registration fees can also be paid through this app.
  • It is for the first time that Haj application process is going to be digital.
  • A major initiative in the government’s ‘Digital India’ programme. 
  • The mobile app will be available on Google Play store.

About Haj Division of Ministry of Minority Affairs

  • Work related to Management of Haj Pilgrimage.
  • The Division manages the Haj work in coordination with Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Haj Committee of India (HCoI) and Consulate General of India (CGI).
  • Haj Committee of India is a statutory body under the Ministry of Minority Affairs.
  • It is located in Mumbai.
  • It is set up under the provisions of Haj Committee Act, 2002.
  • The Committee is reconstituted every three years.
