Aamir-Ul-Shafi Khan: B.Tech Student Secured Second Rank in Civil Services Examination [ IAS Updates ]
Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan 23 year old, form Jammu and Kashmir has secured second rank in Civil Services examination. He has completed B. Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Mandi in 2014. He has attempted Civil Services Examination in 2014 for the first time and secured 560th rank; he was given the Indian Railway Traffic (IRT) Services and presently taking training for IRT at Lucknow but he was not satisfied with his rank and he met IAS officer Mr. Shah Faesal (topper of civil Services examination in 2009 from Jammu and Kashmir) who was biggest inspiration for him, and after that meeting he decided to appear again in exam.
Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan has selected Philosophy as his optional subject even if he was science student. He has completed his 11 - 12th Science from Tyndale Biscoe School in Srinagar. He is son of School teacher and from Decipora-Mattan village in Anantnag District, 60 km South of Srinagar.
He was inspired to join IAS after Faesal Shah Topper Civil Services in 2009, who was the first Kashmiri to clear it with first rank and become IAS officer; he also said that his grandfather was biggest motivation for him.
Even during his training period he manages to study 9 hours daily. He gives Jammu and Kashmir as his first choice and said that “I believe that there is a lot of scope for me to do something for my people in the state”. He tries harder and harder till he achieves his goal to become an IAS officer. So do not give up at any point and continue with hard work and determination.
