Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared date of Civil Services (IAS (Indian Administrative Services)) Prelims 2017 examination which will be held on 19th June 2017 and the registration will be starts from 22nd February 2017.

 Application Fees

  • Candidates need to submit Rs. 100/- as application fee through net banking of SBI and its associate banks or by any Master/Visa Credit/Debit Cards or by paying Cash at any SBI branch.
  • Female, SC, ST and Physically Handicapped candidates are exempted from examination fee.

  • Graduate degree from a recognized university.

Paper I – (200 marks)

  • Current events of national and international importance.
  • History of India and Indian National Movement.
  • Indian and World Geography – Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
  • Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
  • Economic and Social Development Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc.
  • General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialization.
  • General Science.

Paper II- (200 marks)

  • Comprehension.
  • Interpersonal skills including communication skills.
  • Logical reasoning and analytical ability.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving.
  • General mental ability.
  • Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. – Class X level).
