Swachh Bharat Abhiyan aims for the real development of a country, which is only possible when there is proper sanitation and healthy atmosphere.
Manual scavenging and open defecation has to be stopped.
In the long run this is the only way to make India free from diseases like cholera and typhoid. Also the vector diseases like malaria and dengue.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in Different Places
This event is being taken sportingly all over India- schools, colleges, villages and in urban areas
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in Schools and Colleges Levels
To build a perfect nation, one should start investing on its younger population. This holds true for this mission too. There is no better place than schools and colleges to motivate the younger India to take a step forward for this cleanliness.
In all the Kendriya Vidhyalayas and Navodaya Vidhyalayas, the government had already run the campaigns. In every schools and colleges this campaign started right from the very moment when the campaign was launched formally during the month of October 2014.
The students were made aware of the importance of the ways of cleanliness and healthy lifestyle. The volunteers and officials of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan made the students participate in this campaign too.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in Urban Areas
Compared to rural areas, the per capita land used by the people residing at urban areas is quite low.
Urban areas lack the resources to maintain the environment naturally and require even more attention to cleanliness and waste management.
There are more than a crore households living in urban areas, which is why cleanliness and sanitation to such an extent required in urban areas.
Community toilets would be developed and maintained in urban areas like slums; individual toilets are not possible due to lack of sufficient space.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in Village
Defecation is still India՚s core sanitation problem. This mission is expected to spend substantial funds in rural areas to fund sanitation and garbage management.
As said above, people participation and education is vital to this this mission because merely allocation of fund would not help dealing with these problems.
Objectives of Gramin Swachh Bharat Abhiyan
To make sure that citizens of the country enjoy a healthy and fulfilled life.
Create proper awareness by educating people and motivating them to keep their surroundings clean.
Bring advanced environmental sanitation system, which is missing in rural areas and in big cities too.
