To Prepare Students for Competitive Exams, ICSE Board Decides to Reconstruct Syllabus
The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) has decided to restructure its syllabus to prepare students for competitive exams and also to ensure that their students do not shift to the Central Board of Education Board (CBSE) , yet finalization of many things is in the process.
They will provide study material, video lectures, specimen questions papers regarding competitive exams
They also have reach to this decision because of many students prefer coaching centers for preparing for various competitive exams like JEE which is directly affect their school classes and results.
In this regard the Council will request the government for neutral body and not CBSE should be conducting such exams.
Syllabus of both boards in the four subjects of mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics will now be same according to the calibrated ISC syllabus with competitive exam from the ISC 2018 exam.
Previously the council has decided merging physics, chemistry and biology as one subject and history, civics and geography as another subject but now they have dropped the idea because of schools affiliated has complained against the proposed move.
This year total 25,700 students have attended IIT JEE and 21.6% got qualified.
In this regard CISCE also have discuss with the publishers to reduce the volume of textbooks because its forms unnecessarily fear in the minds of students
CISCE has now permitted schools to use NCERT textbooks as reference material in their classes apart from other textbooks.
