Age

The Candidates must have crossed the age level of 21 years but not have completed 30 years, as on the first day of July of that year in which examination will going to be conducted.

However, The upper age limit has some flexibility with respect of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes and also some different categories of persons from time to time, as per the notifications of the Government of India to the extent and subject to the conditions notified in respect of each category.

Educational Qualifications

Candidate must possess a Bachelor՚s Degree with one of the subjects like-Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor՚s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering of a well reputed University.

Personal Attributes

Candidates must be fit and must have desirable physical stamina, endurance and keen interest in nature conservation as well as animal protection. They must also have a hardy disposition for working in even undesirable conditions, crusading spirit and outstanding observational skil.

    The candidate must hold a Bachelor՚s degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor՚s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification. In addition, the candidates who possess qualification equivalent to those specified in Rule 7 will be required to produce a certificate from University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of the Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 clarifying that the degree is at par with the Bachelor degree specified in Rule 7 along with their application for the Main Examination failing which such candidate will not be admitted to the Main Examination.
