How to apply:

  • Applicants who want to apply for the Indian Forest Service (Pre) Examination 2019 must visit the official site of UPSC upsc. gov. in

Important Dates

  • Date of Notification: 19th February 2019
  • Last Date to Apply: 18th March 2019
  • Date of Exam: 2nd June 2019
  • Duration of exam: 1 day

Exam Pattern:

  • Preliminary exam will have two papers which contains 200 marks for each.
  • All questions are of objective type
  • Mode of Language: English and Hindi
  • Exam duration: 2 hours
  • Negative Marking: 1/3 marks gets deducted for every incorrect response.

Eligibility Criteria

Age:

  • 21 years to 32 years on 1st August of the year of exam.
  • Upper age limit is relaxable in some case

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the subjects - Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering.

Number of Attempts for the Exam

  • General candidates are given 6 attempts for the exam.
  • OBC candidates can take 9 attempts of the exam.
  • SC/ST candidates can take an unlimited time in the given upper age limit.
