Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) issued a recruitment notification for 70 well-skilled candidates for post of Geologist, Chemist, Geophysicist & Junior Hydrogeologist in Geological Survey of India & Central Ground Water Board through UPSC Geologist & UPSC Geo-Scientist Exam 2019.

Eligibility

For Geologists Gr ‘A’:

Candidates should have Masters Degree in Geological Science/Geology/Geo Exploration/Mineral Exploration/Engineering Geology/Marine Geology/Earth Science & Resource management/Oceanography & Coastal Areas Studies/Petroleum Geosciences or Petroleum Exploration/Geochemistry/Geological Technology from recognized university.

For Geophysicists:

Candidates should possess M. Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or Geophysics or Integrated Exploration Geophysics or Applied Geophysics or Marine Geophysics or Tech. or Applied Geophysics with good academic records.

For Chemists:

Applicants are required to possess M. Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry from recognized institution for participating in UPSC Geologist Exam 2019.

For Junior Hydro geologists (Scientist-B):

Candidates should have Masters Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or marine Geology from reputed institute.

UPSC Geologist Exam 2019 Fee

  • Candidates belong to General & OBC category has to pay application fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred Only).
  • Fee should be paid either by depositing money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/state bank of Patiala/state bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card.
  • All Female Candidates & candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes are not required to pay any fee.

UPSC Geologist Selection Process 2019:

  • Stage-I: Combined Geo-Scientist (Pre. ) Test (Objective Type Papers) for selection of candidates for Stage-II: Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Exam;
  • Stage-II: Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination (Descriptive Type Papers)
  • Stage-III: Personality Test

Method to fill Application Form:

  • Visit official website www.upsc.gov.in which is from UPSC
  • Once site is visited, move onto “What’s New” section available on homepage.
  • Press link comprises of UPSC Geologist Exam Notification.
  • Choose option ‘Press here’. Now, fill important details mentioned in Part 1 registration.
  • Ensure to upload scanned passport size photo along with digital signature within space available in form.
  • Press “Continue” button so that details that you have filled will get saved
  • Next, make sure to fill part 2 Registration form
  • Fill all crucial details which are relevant formality to appear in exam.
  • Lastly, press “Submit”.

Exam Pattern:

  • Question paper will be a subjective or Written exam.
  • For Geologist post question paper total marks will be 200. There will be 3 question papers.
  • Geophysicist has been 3 question papers; every question paper will be 200 Marks.
  • In post of Chemistry, there will be 3 question papers.
  • For Jr. Hydrogeologist candidates required qualify 2 Question papers of Geology & 1 paper of Hydrogeology.
  • For Interview/Personality Test candidates must qualify written exam.
  • Total marks will 200 for Interview/Personality Test.
